France 2000 - Diary and pictures
The first time!
In the Aquitaine, Midi-Pyrenees and Auvergne we discovered the the phenomenon called bicycle holiday. On 2 single-bikes we drove our first kilometres. Right away with full equipment. Bring the tent, bring the stove and go! What a freedom. Mark rode his 20 year old road race bike with a borrowed Bob-Yak and Mandy took her Trek T200. But oh what a speed difference. There must be an other solution...
We have travelled with the special "bicycle-bus" to Castets and cycled from there to Brioude, to return by bus to the Netherlands. We only carried an analogue camera and we had never heard off a diary. So for now there are no pictures. Perhaps some day we will scan the photo's and write a short diary.
