Tashi Dêleh
For the first time outside Europe and rigth away cycling above 4000m. But we start in Kathmandu to warm up.
Lhasa
After we spent a couple of days sightseeing Kathmandu, today is the day to leave for Lhasa with the group. We fly over the Himalaya to a very special city. The place where we need to adjust to the height is found at 3600 meter.
Finally on tour
Lhasa may be the most impressive city in the world, but even there you can have to stay too long. With a few days delay we start our bike tour from Shigatse.
Qomolangma!
A magic power for many. Most people visit the south side, but after a lot of passes of which some where above 5000 m, we reach the northern base camp of Mount Everest.
Sweat and fly
Within 24 hours we decend from 5000 to 800 meter. This also means from -5 degrees to +35 degrees. And from 50% oxygen to almost 100%. From 25% humidity to almost 100%. In short, sweat and fly, our red blood cells race through our body. The final climb from 800 meter to 1600 meter is an easy ride.
This is the summary of our diary, soon you'll find a more extensive day to day report. The pictures are already here, enjoy them!
